Described as “honey-voiced,” “elegant,” and “a combination of power with gentle grace,” Candy Kresmery now brings her love of jazz standards and more contemporary favorites to the Anvil Club.   Classically trained at Northern Illinois University, Candy has performed in high-end venues both in Florida and in the local area including the former Walleye Grill in Huntley, 5 O’clock Steakhouse in Barrington and Chicago Prime Steakhouse in Schaumburg.  Performing a repertoire catering to an audience that appreciates the time-tested standards and styles of Big Band, Latin, Smooth Jazz, Blues, Swing, and Broadway, Candy covers such legendary performers as Keely Smith, Ella Fitzgerald, Sarah Vaughn, and Lena Horne.  Through a recent revitalization of such music, Candy also covers more contemporary artists such as Diana Krall, Jane Monheit, Barbra Streisand, Carole King and Nora Jones.   The Anvil Club brings back warm memories of her family’s membership from years past, so this is a special opportunity for her to give back to a great establishment.
